Haiku by ayaz daryl nielsen

a warm melody
on the orchestra playlist
that's when my heart sings

the shades weren't lowered
white moonlight fills her bedroom
in a dream, she smiles

tranquil day
rinds around the melons
peas in their pods

waking birds call
shirts flapping on clotheslines
this peopled earth

endless snow
listening between flakes I can hear
April's butterfly wings
